Visa Guidelines for South Africa
Tourist Visa
Passport:
Original passport with the validity of minimum one month from the date of return and minimum three blank pages for visa stamping.
Please Note
- Attach all old passports (if any) and copies of first & last page of the passport.
- Handwritten passports are not accepted.
South Africa Visa Application form :
One visa application form DHA-84 and Business Interest with South Africa Form to be duly filled and submitted along with the application.
Please Note: Application form should be filled in BLACK INK and block letters & signed by the applicant.
Photo Specification:
Two recent camera clicked passport sized colored photographs on white background with 80% face coverage on a matt or semi-matt finished paper (35mm x 45mm). Photograph should not be more than 3 months old, scanned / stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas.
Covering Letter:
Covering-letter from the company on its letter head stating the applicant's name, designation, passport number and purpose & duration of visit. The letter should be duly signed by the authorized signatory and addressed to 'The Visa Officer, High Commission of the Republic of South Africa, New Delhi'.
Financials:
Personal/Company/Sponsor bank statement for last 3 months, minimum balance Rs.60,000 duly stamp & sign by the bank. Ticket: Confirmed return/onward air ticket Please Note: The travel dates should match with the dates mentioned in covering-letter and invitation letter.
Invitation Letter:
Copy of invitation Letter from South African host / inviting company on its letter head stating the applicant's name, passport number, purpose & duration of visit and should be duly signed by the authorized signatory mentioning his name & designation.
Please Note: Embassy may ask for the copy of Government photo id proof of invitee attested by Commission of Oaths in South Africa along with the invitation letter.
Ticket:
Confirmed return/onward air ticket Please Note: The travel dates should match with the dates mentioned in covering-letter and invitation letter.
Birth Certificate:
Please click the following link for the Requirement of Unabridged Birth Certificate for minors below 18 years. Please Note: All documents must either be original or certified as true copies of the original, by a competent authority. Documents not in English must be accompanied by the sworn translation.
Medical:
If applicant is traveling from a yellow fever risk country (including low risk countries such as Sao Tome and Principe, Somalia, United Republic of Tanzania and Zambia) or is transiting through a yellow-fever risk country then Original Yellow Fever Certificate is required.
Repatriation Draft:
If required, repatriation draft of Rs 40,000 in the favor of "South African High Commission" payable at Mumbai has to be submitted.
Refund of Repatriation Amount:
Post return from South Africa one can apply for refund. Below are the requirements for the same.
- Passport
- Visa Refund Form
- Covering Letter
- Cancelled cheque
- Original receipt of DD submission f) Boarding pass or ticket itinerary.
Kindly be informed that passport will be returned in 5-6 working days & the refund process will take around 35-40 days.
